. In partnership with Prestige Prep and the Yours In Soccer Foundation, TFA is providing a multi-year academic enrichment and support system... and all we need is your commitment to weekly attendance!
This is an opportunity for TFA players ONLY! -- We want you to be the best on and off the field so we at TFA have partnered up to provide this amazing addition to your TFA experience.
Our classes meet just before team practices and at times that work with the TFA schedule. They are taught by experienced local teachers picked especially for their familiarity with students between the 5th - 8th grades.
Kick-Off
We begin the year with our custom diagnostic assessment measuring a student’s current academic standing in mathematics and english language arts. We then customize a curriculum drawing from California and National Standards aimed at supplementing gaps and helping our athletes advance beyond their regular schooling.
Weekly Classes
Each class meets weekly for 1.5 hours before practice. Combining a mix of English Language Arts and Math studies, students will review and delve deeper into such topics as grammar, reading comprehension and annotation skills. Math fundamentals will touch on such key areas as fractions/decimals, pre and basic algebra, and principles of Geometry.
Teachers will be available at the start of class for Homework Help, and we encourage students to come ready with questions!
*Engaging & Fun*
Our unique approach encourages students to engage in group study, supporting each other and learning the value of communal learning. Presentations help refine their voice and comfort in speaking in front of others while customized learning games make engagement fun and full of laughs.
Our teachers work together to make sure that every student gets personalized attention.
Data Driven
Students will be given regular check-in diagnostics every few weeks based on the concepts they have been working to help us ensure they are on track. Reports will be sent out giving updates on progress and recommendations for continued study. Using feedback from diagnostics, teachers and students, our classes remain dynamic and fresh throughout the year.
All students will take an end of year diagnostic to compare the year start to finish and track growth. This allows us to make personalized recommendations for further study.
Materials
All materials are provided (as well as snacks!) for free.
Each scholar athlete receives packets throughout the year that form the backbone of lessons and help keep their studies organized.
At the end, students have the option to keep their packets so they can refer back to their notes.
Attendance
The most important element to success is showing up!
Students are receiving over $5000 of equivalent tutoring and counseling work, and we expect students to attend all classes with the same expectations of their coaches on the field.

The Joys Of Learning As A Team
Small Group Learning
Two teachers per class allow students to work in small groups. Through guided lessons, we make sure all scholars questions are answered.
Active Participation
We believe the best way to learn is to actively engage with the material. Our activities keep students engaged.
Games & Challenges
Games and other fun activities such as Mad-Libs, Math Puzzles and Creative Writing allow students to cover standards and fundamentals in ways tailored to keep their attention
Writing & Presentation
We know writing is not usually focused on enough in school, so we do! And then we have students present their original work to their teammates to build speaking skills.
REAL RESULTS
+ 100 % !
In 2024-25, students averaged over 100% improvement in key grade level math topics including fractions, decimals, percentages, pre-algebra, basic algebra and geometry.
+90 % !
Between 2024-2025's pre and post program diagnostics, some students increased their correct answers on English comprehension by 90%. Almost a doubling of their scores!
+ 200% !
Many students came into our programs in 2024 with very basic grammar skills and by spring 2025 could correctly break down and identify all the parts of a grade level sentence.
