All of our tutoring is one-on-one. This approach eliminates the social pressures that can hold students back from admitting confusion or difficulty. It also allows us to focus on each student’s specific needs, so the student improves quickly and believes in the process.

Where We Begin

Conversation

All tutoring begins with a conversation with the student’s parent or guardian. Here we gain valuable feedback on the student and their educational journey:

  • Who are they and what are their interests?
  • How do they learn best?
  • Where have they struggled in the past, and do you know why?

From this conversation, we match your child with the tutor that we feel will best connect with them and be able to address their individual needs.

Check Up

From there, our tutors meet with the student to get to know them and review the student’s study habits. We learn how the student studies and how they record assignments. We even look at their backpack!

  • Are they organized?
  • Are poor study habits affecting their progress?

While addressing and improving these basic study skills, the student and tutor build rapport and establish trust, so the student begins to feel comfortable admitting where they need help even before subject matter is involved.
